#620 Daily Source Code for Monday June 18th 2007

From The Curry Manor, Guildford, UK.

Post-Father’s Day update. Man it’s good to be back home, but as always, the setup sounds weird, my ears are shot from flying at altitude and my headset is busted. So what else is new? Well, plenty of Channel feedback, not all good I’m afraid. Compensatory measures are taken with an awesome mashup to kick off a week in Europe!

[...] “The PodcultureBlog.com website is dedicated to my wife. She has been very supportive of my efforts here. I can’t thank her enough. 78g.” « ComaSow   To Err is Human; To Podcast, Divine. Once or twice a week, I come across a podcast with a host that is struggling. The dialogue is a little dry or gremlins are causing technical problems. I usually continue to listen and the problem is quickly corrected. Occasionally, I fast forward or dump the episode. I’ve seen technical and content problems in the best podcasts on the internet. Instead of offending the audience, errors tend to personalize the host. As a listener, we realize the person speaking to us is human. We understand and forgive. One of my most favorite errors comes from the Daily Source Code #620. Adam Curry accidently forgot to reset CastBlaster for his show and we wound up listening to fifteen minutes of him checking his equipment. He asked the audience on his blog whether he should repost the show with the first fifteen minutes removed. Most of the replies wanted Curry to leave it. They thought the mistake was hilarious. Problems and difficulties are a part of life. Even the best podcasters are going to make mistakes. 78g.
