Could you please change the name of the filename back to the way it was, DSC-%epnumber%-%date%.mp3 (Ex: DSC-351-2006-03-10.mp3 ) instead of the way it has been the last couple of shows(including this one) ( deltasierracharl-2523-03-13-2006_pshow_1256.mp3 ) which contains lots of numbers that I dont understand, so please move back to the sweet and short version. Btw I’m using winamp and it doesnt support ID3 tags for streaming mp3’s (ID3v1 is stored at the END of the file)

To Comic Strip Blogger: You have my vote. But one thing: PLEASE buy a nice microphone. Or stop recording your stuff on the toilet. It sounds very hollow.
I even send you some kaas and haring. Urk is almost next door overhere.
But for serious. The fear the people have overhere is ofcourse about the money. People from Poland are payed not payed like the Dutch. That’s a real issue overhere right now and people want to get that right. So the people from other country’s are payed the same amount of money for the same work they do, like the Dutch.
So if you translate that in the real language: people overhere are afraid they loose their jobs to (for example) people from Poland because they are much more cheaper for the big bosses.
P.S. We live right in the middle of the North East Polder and there are lots of people working overhere in the summer. They come from Spain, Poland and other country’s.
Have some chees and haring! It’s good for ya.

AdamC: thanx for playing my shameless plug but it is a very important issue for European Union and Netherlands must not prolong this shite… BTW: I dont hate Patricia – she’s OK and she can think of me as her friend – the drawings were just for comic effect and I can remove them if requested- you can tell it her.

regarding Christina: she deserves now her own wiki entry – and not redirection to your page as it is now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christina_Curry . If nobody will move his/her lazy asses and edit your http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Curry and creative commons entries http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons in wiki – i will try to do it net week myself.

regarding remark of Roger Smalls: what fucking racism? we are both regular, white, europeans and how can one be racist about one’s own race? besides: I love Brits.

generally: have a nice flight across the pond! I’ll send next audio comment AFTER next DSC!

Gert: I ordered this microphone: http://www.podcastalley.com/blog/2006/01/24/namm-update-podcasting-mics-galore-podcastingnewscom/ already. Now I use Logitech USB microphone. Duthch afraid of foreigners getting their jobs, etc? FUCK YOU VERY MUCH! New EU citizens are EU citizens and not FUCKING FOREIGNERS and if netherlands will prolong restrictions on may 1st 2006 – then within EU ntherlands will lose allies FOR FUCKING EVER. Please note: UK, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Greece and Portugal are not imposing any restrictions after may 1st 2006 so if netherlands will do it, thenit will be considered by millions of new EU citizens as extremely hostile and offensive act. I may joke around here about various things, but I am deadly serious about this issue.

Oh, uh – csb way to friendly – I don’t like that.

CSB, this May 1. issue is a non event. In Germany alone there are working at least 300.000 Poles today – sucking up money in low jobs all while we are paying for our own jobless people. It simply makes no economic sense to us making that even easier.

Unfortunately Poland adds nothing positive to the EU

I’ve never understood the fanatacism some people have about particular words. It amuses me greatly. One example, here in America, is what to call a carbonated beverage. Is it pop, soda, soda pop, soda water, soft drink, cola, coke/pepsi/other brand name, etc….

Personally I prefer the word pop as it’s more fun for me to say. I get ‘corrected’ by people fairly often about it, and those people are sometimes irritated or even angry that I dared call it something different from the term they use. My usual point is, “you knew what I meant, didn’t you?” This tends to get me into more trouble.

I’ve concluded that the whole thing is silly and proof that people are somewhat irrational. Still, I quite like people anyway. Quirks just make them more interesting.

Tuotrams: I see that you are a fan of Erika Steinbach and NPD. fuck you, you fucking idiot! Besides: globalizaiton is the main reason of these problems and limiting freedom of movement of people within EU is only increasing these globalization related problems and not resolving them – imagine that peopel from Kansas can’t move freely to California – it would have negative effect on USA. UK and Ireland that opened themselves early to new EU citizens now have economic boom – also because these new EU citizens pay taxes to UK/Ireland (because they are legal there) and because they CREATE NEW COMPANIES AND NEW JOBS – this is very positive fucking effect. Countries that close itself made FATAL MISTAKE and at the end these countries will suffer the most, not new EU countries or countries that opened itself to new EU citizens. You are total idiot Tuotrams – because you don’t undersand these globalization things and you are blaming your problems on non-Germans instead of searching for solution in COMMON EU home. The French-German axis is dead, French-German alliance rules EU no more, and now British-Spanish-Polish axis will rule EU. You are becoming slowly history and old EU countries that close itself to new EU citizens are joining “losers club”. Everything has changed and you idiot Tuotrams go fuck your self or better go fuck Erik Steinbach! I hate you, you racist pig! This was supposed to be common European home – that EU – but on your example I see that in this home we have still too much racistic pigs like you, Tuotrams!

Christine: I agree with you that this word fanatism is stupid and irrational. English itself however is a mixture of Italian (Latino vulgare), German (anglo-saxon), Celltic, French, etc – so the fact that now we have strong variations of English is only a reason to have fun and not a reason to be stressed out and to quarell which pronunciation/spelling are right or wrong. The fact is however that USA is much bigger country than UK, with much bigger influence on mass culture, so I always tend to prefer to use US version of words, although obviously “British version is charming”.

CSB, you are full of crap!
Nobody in the EU wants to stop the free traffic of goods and people. Those are the basics why we started the EEG in the fifties and the EU later on.
Tuotrams has a point. Free traffic yes, but if you are going to work in another country you work under the rules that apply in that country. By the way, the Netherlands is going to remove the limitations on Polish coming into the country. Another by the way, the UK is introducing a point system for who is allowed to come into the country. So, what were you saying about an open market???

  15.
    March 14, 2006 | 10:42 am

Bob Beela : there is no free traffic of people for new EU citizens, who are treated like negroes, like 2nd class citizens – in some countries. I agree on using rules that apply in particular country but now there is no freedom for all (!) EU citizens. It is NOT DECIDED YET whether Netherlands will lift these restrictions on May 1st 2006 (after 2 year review peried). It is by no means decided and rumor has it that in fact Netherlands will prolong it and not lift it. UK’s new immigration system based on points is for non-EU citizens only and doesn’t apply to EU citizens (both old and new ones), who can move in to UK without any limits whatsover. Open market = applies to EU countries only and not to whole world obviously because being members of EU means common interests and common future.

CSB: I refer you to this Dutch website (http://www.volkskrant.nl/den_haag/article247000.ece). Translated It says: “The Netherlands will open up its borders by the first of May 2006 for employees from Poland and all other new EU members states. This rumour has been confirmed by sources in the Dutch government.” So hold your horses!

Bob Beela : Van Hoof is just a one guy and THE DECISION HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN YET in Netherlands. These are just intententions of SOME people. And your “Tweede Kamer” (i.e. Dutch parliament) has not voted yet. I warmly ask Dutch people to ask your local presentatives in Tweede Kamer to vote for lifting of these restrictions – just contact them and tell them to vote on lifting these restrictions on new EU citizens, not on prolonging these restrictions. This is decision, that will influence FUTURE OF NETHERLANDS very much: not only I (and many others) will be boycotting Dutch products, but also within EU the Netherlands will have problems to form alliances with new EU member countries on various issues – if this decision will be negative for new EU citizens. Let me put it this way: Netherlands can join backward countries with huge economic problems and unemployment – like France and Germany – that are isolating themselves and blocking new EU citizens or Netherlands can join ranks of countries with good economy and economy growth like UK, Ireland, Spain and – thus position itself better for the future. I repeat: this issue is not decided yet, go and act! … counting on positive outcome and doing nothing means that outcome may be negative… and thus future of Netherlands endangered.

  18.
    March 14, 2006 | 11:52 am

I would like to underline that doin nothing and hoping that things will work out means that negative outcome is become more probable, here is a related saying:

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Strange to put up a comment on the comments, but still.

CSB: I like to read your point of view. I live in the Netherlands and know about our fears of cheap labour from Poland. I also know that many Dutch entrepeneurs are already using this as an opportunity (and are being penalized), but I don’t know anything about the Polish point of view.

Can we continue this topic somewhere more appropriate? For Curry.com this is somewhat off-topic…

CSB,your comments make me laugh and sad ad the same time because of its incoherent tone. Poland has a very low Corporate income tax of only 19% which makes your country very interesting for new andexcisting investors. Why on earth are you so impatient? Are you yourself in such a hurry to leave the country.
O,before i forget, did you know that the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands were the second largest investor in Poland in 2004 and in the nineties the second largest investor in the United States? You are dead wrong csb – it will not help the EU if more Poles (BTW: Many of them high skilled) work for german farms. Poland’s stupid politicans (Really, 100% of them are stupid – I can prove that) do all they can to block the free flow of money – that is the real problem.

Bottom line – if Poles bring down the wages for the small guy in Europe – there will be no support for the EU anymore – that is a real problem.

Mrs. Steinbach is OK in my view – she is a moderate and helps (unintentionally) to reveal Polands true colors. Poland is in the EU for one reason only, to take.

If you want to belong to Europe you have to stop feeling like (historical) losers. You have to be more self-confident.

BTW: I was never a fan of the socialist French-German axis. If you look at Mrs. Merkel you will see, she is a free-market advokate and very close to the Brits. Poland has nothing in common with the Brits – ok, they saved your butt “100 years” ago – but THAT is history my friend. Like most Poles you live in the past

Michael : point of view of new EU citizens and countries is simple: if Netherlands will prolong restrictions beyond May 1st 2006 then they all will be pissed off at Netherlands and it may result not only in decreased sales of Dutch products but also in future within EU organizations Netherlands will not have as much allies and friends as otherwise. EU organizations decide about many aspects of Dutch life and economy and it would be stupid to piss off people that will be voting on (also) Dutch matters. And no, no need to discuss it further elsewhere – AdamC after all is personally very strongly associated with Netherlands and many Dutch people so it is not so irrelevant as it seems.

pip: Ireland has also low corporate tax but nowbody among old EU members is bashing Ireland! I am extremely impatient and also many new EU citizens are – if these restrictions will be prolonged on May 1st 2006 – this act of hostility on part of Netherlands NEVER EVER will be forgotten! This is serious shit. Regarding “We don’t need you,you will need us.” — theoretically “yes” but practically you fucking very much so need new EU countries because they will provide missing workforce in many sectors, but also because they have EQUAL VOTING POWER WITHIN EU and by prolonging this shite you will be pissing off people that have VOTING POWER over EU and thus over issues directly related to Netherlands + boycott of Dutch products is reality and not theory (French products were already boycotted when French president laughed out the fact that these new EU countries helped USA in Iraq).

Generally: this situation can be compared with marriage where old EU countries are married with new EU countries but don’t treat them equally, i.e. old EU countries want to get blow job quickly from old EU countries and then new EU countries should fuck off. Old EU countries don’t want real sex (= no limits on movements, remember Bill Clinton said “blowjob is not a sex”) and wanna treat new EU countries like cheap whores who are not allowed everything and should service and fuck off. This is fucking marriage so everything should be allowed without limits on movements or Netherlands should simply leave EU or/and stop pretending that it is so open and friendly towards are people and races. How the fuck can Netherlands be friendly towards its own Muslim and non-white citizens, if Dutch are extreme racists towards their FELLOW EU citizens??? Impossible.

Tuotrams : fuck you, you racist pig. Don’t worry about lack of self-confidence – German-French domination is over and replaced by British-Spanish-Polish one and nationalist enterprise of Erika Steinbach will be vetoed. Nothing in common with Brits? Wrong! In WW2 it were Polish pilots, who were 2nd most effective (only after Englishmen) in the Battle of Britain and Enigma machine was initially decoded and delivered to UK for final decoding also by Polish folks. British prime minister mentioned it clearly and said that imposing any restricitons is not an option because of help in WW2. Germans simply can’t get over the fact that Poland taken away 120 000 square km from Germany (and Soviet Union took even more on the east from Poland) and that’s why Germans usually hate Poles. I reckon, Tuotrams, that you are one of those haters. And the fact that 300,000 Poles moved to UK after may 1st 2004 and contributed positively to UK economy is undeniable fact and not fucking history. It is idiots who block new EU citizens from full free movement that live in history: they blame all problems on new EU citizens instead of blaming these problems on globalization and on their innefficient economy structures! So shut the fuck up, Tuotrams, you racist pig! Friend in need is friend indeed and now, on May 1st, 2006, it will be clearly visible who is friend and who is racist pig. Warning: this is last chance.

Conclusion: blow job is not enough, either we make it full banging starting May 1st 2006 (the last chance!), or Netherlands will be hated and despised for long long time by millions of new EU citizens and will lose money by boycott of Dutch goods and by Netherlands-unfriendly voting of new EU members. Blow job is not enough. Go and tell your politicians that you NEED full shagging..

Tuotrams, you racist pig, Poles are in Iraq because “friend in need is friend indeed” and it doesn’t matter who is president – USA needed help and got it. Poland was also one of only 4 countries in combat phase in Iraq war – with USA, UK and Australia – while Dutch arrived very late and have 20 times less casualties. This is all about helping friends, not about being fooled you stupid cretin and racist pig! Anyway: shut up you imbecile, I talk here to Dutch not to Germans!

    My last comment

csb, you and I know why Poland is in Iraq – Poland wanted to belong to the winners (for the first time ever) by aligning with a winner (USA).

Unfortunately (maybe because of the Poles) the Iraq adventure turned out to be a total mess.

Will you ever learn your lessons? Possible, Germany achieved that, too.

In short, entering the European Union is NO paradise. Each country will have it’s own problems to deal with and important issues will always be decided on by the national governments. It looks like you are still influenced by the Eastern European propaganda machine.

(continued:) were asked to do. For instance we had a minister who was asked to vote againts a sertain law. (Not the one you are talking about) and he simply layed all the calls beside him and voted for the law.
That happend a lot overhere the last years. And just that is one of the reasons the people have lost their way in politics and I believe they are recovering from that right now.
I cannot imagine that we, as the Netherlands, would stop other Europeans to come and work overhere. Because those people have to eat, sleep and buy other products overhere. So one way or another, a lot of people can benefit from that too. It’s just how you look at it.
It may take some time for a lot of people to get used to it.
I personaly think it’s also a point that the people overhere had lots of changes going on. They felt presured by the politicians. The wanted to go fast, fast, fast. And maybe because of that most people ‘asked’ for a break by voting a ‘no’. Not meaning they are completely agains Europe.
From your point of view that may look completely stupid. But if politicians do not listen to the people…people do crazy things to get their attention overhere.
Last week we had to vote for the local politics. That was a very confronting!

So, comming back to the subject. Use the beautifull new microphone and put a real good podcast together on the subject. I will listen, and I’m sure you will have a lot of listeners out there too.
    Go for it.

Tuotrams : no, you are wrong you pig. Americans said “we are at war, help us!” and Poles answered “yes, we come!” and arrived right away – and it doesn’t matter who was/is president of USA – it could be Micky Mouse or Donal Duck or Howard Stern and the answer would be the same “yes, we come!” because of friendship. But you will not understand it.

Gert: no, I will not do podcast about it. My message with warning to Dutch people has been transmitted – courtesy of AdamC – and it should be enough. If it will not be enough then Dutch have only themselves to blame.

Generally: fredom of movement for all (old and new) EU citizens is part of the solution and not part of the problem. The problem lies in global trends like globalization and outsourcing and in outdated too beaurocractic economic structures of EU countries like Germany, France and Italy. Blaming it all on new EU citizens makes all things worse. Patricia Paay said in this podcast about myself “he hates Netherlands” but it is not truth: I am waitng till May 1st 2006 whether I will love or hate Netherlands – indifference is not an option.

  32.

pip: I feel very well with opening borders to Ukrainians but they are not EU citizens so this comparison is shitty and inappropriate. Here we are talking about one EU citizens (Dutch) treating other EU citizens as negroes. Once Ukraine, Russia and Turkey – I will feel very well about opening borders for them, but they are not in EU yet, so don’t be fucking idiot and compare oranges to oranges and not oranges to apples!

Gert: the new fantastic USB microphone from RØDE of name “Podcaster” is unfortunately shipping in July 2006 – it’s not on sale yet. I am just asking each Dutch person to contact their represantatives in Dutch parliament and tell them that you want to vote for lifting of restrictions – as UK, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Greece and Portugal will be doing.

pip : enough, I give up – I said enough on this topic and Dutch are warned – now if Netherlands will take racistic decision, then they will not beable to say that nobody warned them.

Mark : why airplane of Tomarken family crashed? can AdamC’s small airplane crash because of the same reason?

Good, now the sole thing you have to sort out is the meaning of the word ‘racist’.

pip: racist = discriminatory especially on the basis of race or religion

… and since old EU countries are mainly: Germanic and Romanic tribes and new EU countries are mainly Slavic tribes (of course Russians and Ukrainians are also Slavic but not in EU), one could say that decision of Netherlands – a Germanic country against Slavic countries – to continue blocking new EU citizens – even after 2 year review period, i.e. after May 1st 2006 – will be racist because it discriminates on the basis of race. Of course they all are white etc, and it could be considered by non-whites as splitting hairs, but it must be exposed because it is how some old EU countries think and feel.
Besides: I was on recipient end of racism so I know the meaning of ‘racist’ very well. I have also non-white pals, who despite having citizenship of EU countries are treated in EU like shit (I was witnessing it in France with my eyes too!) on the basis of their race and religion.
So you shut the fuck up you stupid pip, because you have no idea about these things – you just read about it in press or Internet – while I experienced it personally through my own experiences and through 1st hand reports.

YOU, pip, not me, totally have no idea what ‘racist’ really means.

The bottom line is that if Netherlands will vote to keep restrictions for new EU citizens, then it will be RACIST decision and final proof that Netherlands as a country, is RACIST. This allegation was presented many times by Muslims living in Netherlands but there was no official proof. Now both Muslims and we, Slavs, will get final proof that it is fact – if Netherlands will vote in RACIST way regarding May 1st, 2006!

May 1st, 2006 = moment of truth about Netherlands.
