Does the Podshow/podshow PDN and up and coming tools and facilities have an API.
Let me be more specific. I assume you are recording information like number of plays, earhned revenue from plays etc..
At Folknology we are working business and financial management for artists, micro businesses and even SMEs. We are connecting up with a lot of other online web based facilities and businesses in order to link up finacial information for clients. Thus do your up an coming facilities provide API taht enable use to connect our web apps to yours? That way we can help your customers managee there businesses and tax etc…
We are also integrating advertising (like adsense) affiliates earning (like Amazon affiliates) etc..

Okay – what’s up here? This is the second day now that I can no longer merely play the mp3 off the curry.com site. Now I have to download the show completely to my computer, and then play it with QuickTime. All the DSC shows prior to yesterday’s I was able to just click and it played while it was downloading. Apparently something’s changed.
I liked the audio comment regarding RSS and I think he’s right. Most email clients support RSS directly or through a plug-in. Thunderbird for example supports RSS out of the box http://kb.mozillazine.org/RSS_basics_%28Thunderbird%29

Robin: yes, something is fucked up, but if you open Windows Media Player (WMP) as stand alone app and copy and paste the URL of the MP3 to it, then it streams…. although clicking doesn’t worked any longer – something is fucked up but do you can stream it.

Why not just say that hotmail and other such are not accepted for the purpose of verification?
I have seen this on websites in the past. When I asked, I was told it was because they were too insecure to verify passwords and stuff. Hotmail is certainly famously dodgy. Would it be better to suggest to people who try and use these crippled email systems that they get Gmail or something?
CSB – in our society – US, UK, Netherlands – magazines like that are NEVER the underdogs. If I hear of anyone who is in dispute with one of these, I sympathise with the person until I hear different. That doesn’t happen often though…

In relation to the mp3-tag problem, I would have to agree with the audio comment and I believe you missed part of the idea …
The idea would be to make the system help the artists do it better. We are not asking you to do it for the artist, just to make it easier for those artists who are not totally fluent in tagging. As you suggested yourself, make an example, maybe even write a standard (title, artist …) showing how they could fill it in. This would make it much better for the users and with a bit of luck, make the tagging more or less standard, so we would have an easier job using it and pushing this to friends.
An idea could also be to make a small plugin that gave artists a popup with fields to fill out and then the network automaticly inserted the mp3-tags. Maybe make this an option for the artists to use.
Dont do it for them … just help them a bit. It will help youself and the users.

I just though of a way to make editing the ID3 tags a part of uploading the file to the PSMN. It would involve a few lines perl and a new form on the upload page for information that is importent, Such as artist, song title, and album (if applicable). If your webserver is on linux there is a command line program called simply enough id3 that accepts input from standard in (or the options passed to it from the command line) . Anyway just a thought on that topic I wanted to pass along.
Also about the “Cube” you mentioned on this ep. that is actualy the NeXtstep cube that was put out by a company that was owned by Mr. Jobs of Apple, before his return to Apple.

The action taken to local and national disasters is awesome but it’s a damn shame that so many citizens take advantage of the negative situations.
