Adam, I need the show notes not to decide whether or not to listen to the DSC (that’s not even a question…of course I will listen) BUT I browse the shownotes to see which of the “dailies†I will listen to first because between DSC and PCH and some other daily podcasts I have to “program†my listening for the drive home and whatever is left is for the drive back into work the next day (I sync my ipod at work).

Show notes are important for me not to cherry pick what to listen to, but in terms of finding sometime later that salient tidbit to share with a friend to hook them on podcasting, or to find a podsafe song that I recalled liking but couldn’t remember the tune or the artist. So you see, it IS important.
Almost everyone will listen to your entire show, but what matter does it make to you what segments someone might listen to? At least they are listening to something of yours, and for that you should be grateful.
May I suggest that you put the vox mail numbers in your header rather than repeating them in each day’s shownotes?

Say, are there any news about the “I-chose-the-wrong-URL-when-I-preregistered-for-PodShow+” problem? (I know, not high priority…) Because I chose one, which I thought I could use for my podcast, but now is my personal URL
I contacted the support team a few weeks ago, but didn’t heard from them for 2 weeks now. You mentioned there is a solution in progress (changing personal URL and podcast URL or something like that). Are there any news?

C-Man: Hey there, Joe here. I never rec’d your specific comment about your login/show name issue, but I can answer your questions here just as easily. Right now quite a few people have made the same mistake and we are looking into if we can build a tool to allow people to ‘hot swap’ their usernames with their showname. As you can imagine, this is quite a bit complicated as usernames are everywhere in hte system (Entourages, Digs, shows, etc) and there are lots of databse tables that need to updated. We are listening, and we are working on it, but it isn’t something that we can develop overnight.
Joe, how about just allowing for a deletion of an account?

I fully agree with abovementioned comments. I love the Shownotes as they make it easier for me to skip a not so good PMN-song (fortunately we don’t all have the same taste in music). And it gives me a nice overview of the content.

Thx for the quick reply! Adam, I also did this suggestion to delete my actual account (haven’t done much with it anyway, because of this problem) in my last email to the listener-support team. If my account would be deleted, my actual user URL (which I want for my podcast) should be deleted also and so should be available again for my podcast when I register again on Podshow+, right?

Ultimate low in MTV history was the directors decision to use cutaways of Alan Hunter, Martha Goodman and Martha Quinn during Paul McCartneys rendition of Let It Be, Live Aid . Yeah, I’m dating myself. Only watched “120 Minutes” by the time Adam arrived.

Besonders der Weg, Werbung mit Inhalt zu vermischen um Einnahmen zu maximieren ist sehr bedenklich. In Zeitungen und anderen Medien ist sowas nicht umsonst verboten.

AC – Deletion of accounts, yeah that is easier than renaming of subdomains, but not an instaneous fix either. Users should see the ‘Delete my Account’ feature pretty soon, but for varioius reasons, the subdomain will remain unavailable for a period of time.

Sure, I’m not 100% stoked about hearing PS+ updates and accolades every day, and hope that the DSC will become more varied and interesting in the near future when all this subsides…
but SM’s comments make me ill.
Fair criticism allows for progress and opens discussion – personal attacks and vile remarks such as SM’s are not welcome anywhere, especially in a community of respectful give and take such as ours.
The comment from SM accentuates what I said about human behaviour in todays show.
I appreciate the pushback from everyone, but this doesn’t hurt me at all.

As far as Mel Gibson is concerned, I don’t know that people are going on about him getting drunk and driving. Heck, Russell Crowe is still going strong, and properly so.
I think that the deal is his language in respect to Jews that has people riled. When one gets drunk, they say things that they do mean, but in their sober state are able to refrain from saying. His anti-Semetic remarks were an eye-opener, and a truly sad thing.

Hey Adam with the Mel thing … career over or not, anti-semitism is pretty rank, dontcha think? And many senior Hollywood execs are Jewish, so this – plus what many people read as antisemitism in the Passion of the Christ – won’t go down well. Having said that … Mel made so much money from the Christ film that he really doesn’t need the studios to back him any more, and I think that there are plenty of consumers out there who will think that drink driving, and making anti-semitic comments don’t matter. I guess you’re right about his career not being over.
