Hey Adam, forget FUBAR and try F.A..R.T. sometime. Friday Afternoon Recreation Time goes like this…
Do a shot of your favorite liquor everytime you mention Podshow Plus or Podsafe Music Network on the Charlie. Too easy? Then do a shot when you mention Go Daddy or play a promo from someone on the Podshow team.
Safe trip back home…Jimmy Smack Head

    Just registered
    WheresAdamsIPod.com.

If I win the iPod, I’ll take Adam’s iPod all kinds of places (some interesting, some ordinary, use your imagination) and blog / podcast about where the iPod has been.

Podcasting, power in the hands of the ordinary people.

I also send this to Mark Yashimoto Nemcoff as he is likely to be interested enough to take the ten minutes to download the code and check out the content I mention.
    —-

    Hey Adam (Mark,)

I am sitting here, blown over by a new piece of software to distribute video. (Its free, its GPLed so I’m going for the source code and look at it.)

Its called the “Democracy Player” ( http://www.getdemocracy.com ) from “Participatory Culture” and it seems to work rather well. It uses direct download and it can use BitTorrent as well to get content.

It provides a chance for “indie” producers to get their work known, distributed and viewed, bypassing the entire monied, blockbuster media culture which restricts producers and constricts production of content. (Hmm… Sound familiar guys?)

I found out about it on American Public Media’s “Future Tense” podcast.

While I am/was interested in the software, I am really blown over by the content, which would never get air time over a commercial carrier.

I’ve just watched “Slip of the Tongue” and I am utterly crushed and yet totally elated by the talent and drive out into this piece of video.

I think you guys should check out the concept of building channels (and Libraries) of content that they have.

While Adam might be interested in the audio distribution and the merging of the concept into the PDN, Mark might be more interested in the video artistry aspect.

    -Charles-A

AC, hope you got home safely and are getting back on your schedule. I’ve been adding shows like crazy in my P+ channels, and sending the feeds to iTunes. One thing I notice, is show producers don’t always include their show name in the episode titles. When I check the long list of shows in my iTunes, I often have no clue whose shows belong to the episodes — especially since the description is wiped out, replaced by (name of channel) : A Podshow Channel.

I wonder if either the episode descriptions could somehow be retained in the transfer from P+ to iTunes, or if you might be willing to encourage producers to include their show name in episode titles?

MC Lars – I loved this tune since I ever heard it. That was a hit downunder? Cool… (I should buy the album, I really should.)

I’ve been in touch with indie ecord companies about letting me play their music, of course, and joining up with the PMN because i would increase their exposure.

It occurs to me that you might want someone whose sole job it was to do this for you.

How ’bout letting me be your representative? (I am already doing it but only for the bands that nterest me for my podcast.)

If this can eventually translate to a paying gig, good for me. If I take it on full time and sign up bands (like I did with the Detonators) and record companies, good for you.

I’m just wondering if I do. could get a stipend, (I do have expemses afer all,) and some business cards?

I’m more then wiling to ’scouse’ through the trade mags, (I already know of/get a few) and push for the PMN cause.

    Just a thought…

P.S. I’m already signed up on the PDN as http://msb.podshow.com/ tough I’ve got some as of yet still unanswered questions on updating my shows from my LibSyn.com feed.

And, who the #@$% is “John”? And what would HIS tags be doing on my page?

My name is Charles-A. Rovira. :-)

Sorry C.S.L. , mate but only Adam Curry decides whether given comment will ever be played and thus heard by the world. Ask him, mate! Personally I prefer serendipity.

IF i would get a ‘fiver ‘from every former listener to the Charlie due to the fact that a silly twat got a platform for his nonsense i could lie on the beach for the rest of my life.

stupid jealous twat above claims that listeners go away from DSC because Adam plays sometimes (rarely) my audio comments? this is bullshit. Playing my audio comments has no influence on listeners and if any only positive as some people mentioned in audio comments before. Let us not forget that Richard Bluestein alias Madge has yet not apologized to me for his vulgar attacks on me… and that many podshow whores cannot stand that I dared to cricitize them. Yes, at least here is somebody – me myself – who is not just asskisser of Adam but dares to say everything. I think it is good thing for him because otherwise shit happens as the roll-out of Podshow+ showed where feeds were hijacked and no ass-kisser noticed it and I was not allowed to beta test it.

Why should someone apologize to you for telling the truth , you are boring(k) ,treat people like shit and have a low self esteem . Let me guess,is this mumble comment about ‘ lack of sperm’in the UK. And by the way, some regular commenters have taken a hike also, wonder how that came about..

I’ve found some interesting “bugs” in Podshow+. I must say the email support has been (somewhat) helpful.

    - There is still a “hijacked feed” in the Channel listing. When looking your individual channel’s show (expanded), the XML link is still podshow internal.
    - Where’s the “export-my-channel-as-an-OPML-file” option?
    - You can not add your own *outside-of-podshow-hosted-show* into Podshow+ without using the feed vacuum. I don’t like this personally, as my show will then have 2 URLs, plus the possibility of added advertising, which I actually don’t want. Seems this is by design… Not a good thing, imho. They already have the ‘Unofficial guides”.. Just link them to our own pages!
    - P+ doesn’t seem to be IE friendly. I don’t have the “Edit profile” option available on IE it seems, yet on Firefox it works ok. (work PC is IE – can’t change that).
    - P+ is also very slow.. Like really, really slow. Performance has to increase, quickly, or it will be a major set back.

    Adam,

Speaking of bugs, I’ve found that everything I’ve tried at PodShow+ works pretty well for a beta … EXCEPT …

After I log in, I’ve found the response time of the “my page” and “find stuff” buttons to be excruciatingly s-l-o-w — I’m talking *minutes* to respond. So far, I find this funny — I mean, *my* page is the most difficult for me to access, while all the *other* pages at PodShow+ are called up in a snap?

And it’s not just a Safari problem — the same thing happens for me with Firefox.

My current work-around is to click the “my page” button, then go into another tab and do other things unitl “my page” finally loads. But still …

Yes, I’ve written to PodShow+ tech support. I’ll assume the silence from that direction means they are as yet as mystified as I am.

    Cheers!
    Murphy

One more bug, annoynance really, the new RSS feed I slapped into iTunes now replaces the “Podcast” name with “Channel : a Podshow Channel”. That’s fine, however, prefix the episode name then with the podcast title. When browsing the iPod it is almost impossible to tell which show you’re listening to.

above comment with “Americans” mention is not by myself but by imposter – scum people who stalk me and try to discredit me.AdamC can see that it is imposter by looking at IP address.
