I have a major bug to report. And i have verified it

I log into my account, click on account info. I try to edit the “domain name” field and hit submit. It then displays my claimed podcast, rutters ramblings on the screen. (why I still don’t know) I then try to go back to my profile, and Im asked to login. However, I can’t login, because my password has now been changed (not by me!). I then have to use the lost password function, and relog in and change my password again.
I think there is something buggy either ont he entire profile page, or perhaps just editing the domain name field. I have duplicated this 3 times. Windows XP, firefox 1.5.0.4
Maybe the edit profile screen is automatically changing passwords? Regardless I can’t edit the “domain name” field and it is messed up. I submitted a tracker about the domain name field this morning, but now that I have verified it, thought youd like to know the process. The guys can log into my account to test if they want.

Been trying Podshow + . Like it. Problem is, for me, an inveterate fiddler, I can spend the time working out what the hell’s going on. For anyone less techie I think it would be a LOT of work. It’s not intuitive. Sorry to be own on it bu I genuinely think that it can be solved wth improved help pages and contextual tips.
Example – adding an individuali feed manually is non-obvious.

I’ve registered with podshow and I didn’t get an email confirming that I’m a member. I then try and sign in and it dosen’t let me in as the password is incorrect (which it isn’t) I then try and register again with the same details and the name is already taken but I doubt someone has my name. I then request my password and I still don’t recieve this? Can anyone help?

as soon as i got access i built a few playlists in PS+ and downloaded them into itunes and it grabbed the podcasts etc yet each day I have to go back into PS+ to re-add the podcasts to the playlists – is this a common thing? I’m resorting back to the direct feeds until i see it more stable…

John B, please post your PS+ page and publish a channel (playlist) to your page. Use the My Channels module on your profile. My channels are stable, have been for months. Lets figure out what is happening.

johnb’s problem sounds like the same thing I have been seeing. I am seeing the 4 shows I put in my channel stay there more today than yesterday. But, the DSC has disappeared from My Channel multiple times in the last 2 days. I keep adding it back. I am not yet able to just trust iTunes to sync with my channel without first checking my channel online. I have created a ticket for this in Listener Support (yesterday).
the_architect, if you are asking about signing up for PodShow+, you do not have to be a podcaster. And, despite little wrinkles, PodShow+ offers some cool listener services.

Anyone figure out how to claim your own podcast that was already on the podshow network before you made a profile? I haven’t found any information about how to do this. When I was first playing around I got used the vacume and the Podshow code in my description but all it did was create a dupilcate feed. All I want to do is claim the feed that was already on there. My profile page is and you can search for the original feed that podshow had for my show if you look for ‘the #2 Show!’. Any information would be great, Thanks.
I seem to have the same problem as described by johnb. I had not actually posted the channel on my PS+ page as AC described, so did that today. Let’s see if they shows are still listed on the channel tomorrow.

managed to publish a page, http://johnb.podshow.com – the whole adding shows to playlists and creating new channels is flakey as hell . I just created a channel and added a show to it (geekbrief) using that drag and drop thing and clicked save and it goes back to the bit before where i click the add to channel link…it certainly doesn’t show in the channels at the bottom – but hold on refreshing the page it appears? kinda defeating the point of using ajax me thinks?
From my collection page i now see geekbrief in vidcasts, dsc and pstq in podcasts and infection in books, but if i look in the ‘my collection’ from on ‘my page’ all i see is dsc and pstq….
The continuing attacks are a sign of Podshow’s success. These will continue, especially as the conventional media really starts to feel the squeeze. Attacks like this should be taken as a badge of honor and a sign of effectiveness.

So far my issues with PS+ have been addressed, but I have an issue with the podsafe music section that I have e-mailed tech support about to no avail. I simply cannot log in, although my e-mail address (the one used for this post) is registered. I tried the “Forgot your password?” link many times, but I do not receive an e-mail. This has been the case for months, and I’d love to play music from the PMN; please help!

Well unfortunately I have tried 5 times to upload my podcast and have not been successful. The vacume thing worked but never uploaded my podcast then the feed disappeared. Then I tried uploading the 13 MB file 3 times each time it disappeared after briefly being visiable. each time I added it to my collection, and now I have 3 ghost links to shows that deleted themselves. I hope they get this figured out. I submitted bug reports and have yet to get a response. I’m really excited about podshow + though and have faith it will all work out in the end.

Looks like the database synch issues have been resolved then. I believe this was causing the dropped shows from channels. Additionally, a misconfiguration on one of the clusters made the feed vacuum suck, er not suck and some show uploads might have been problematic. I witnessed this myself yesterday. All seems well now. Still digging.

Just installed the latest flash player… and it works.
Yikes, maybe you can have some javascript in there to make some kind of a prompt in the player that flash player needs to upgrade instead of just having it sit there. LOL.
But seems fine now that I upgraded to the last version (released 6.26.06) it fixed the player. Should have thunk of that first. I do still have a phantom podcast on My Collection page, but I sent in a bug tracker on that. I hope Matt and the guys are doing ok.

so on Friday night I logged into PS+ and for the umpteenth time added shows to playlists….but this time i took a screenshot..Saturday night i logged in and the 5 shows i’d added to playlists were down to three…and another screenshot and just now i logged in and lastnights three is down to one show and yet another screenshot – who should i send these too for investigation?
I can’t claim my feed. When I initially tried, the suck code was corrupted and even had sql code in it.
I can’t use vacuum again because the cybsterspace.podshow.com subdomain already exists. I get no response form Support.
I really want to get my Cybsterspace claimed and on the PDN asap.

I think we have made a presentation error in our thought process.
As far as I can tell, the shows are not gone from your channel, but only shows within the past week are displayed.
There WAS a previous error where shows would no longer be inked to a channel, but that has been fixed. See if a show that updates ‘re-appears’ in the channel view.
I’d love to hear more feedback about how channels should be displayed and their contents.
hmmm ok – I could live with that except when i go to my collection, the drop down on each show in channel(s) shows ‘None Selected’…I can’t believe I’m the only personi seeing this problem? I’m not doing anything funny, I am using multiple computers to go into Podshow, maybe we can talk more in Sainsburys?
JohnB, I’m seeing the exact same thing. It looks like only shows that are *.podshow.com are getting dropped and not ‘external’ shows. Does this seem the same for you?

yeah, I’ve only been trying podshow shows so couldn’t comment on external shows…I did log a ticket with listener support trying to send in screenshots but it sounds like it’s a common problem.
At the end of the day, I’m a listener – my collections and playlists are the most important to me. I was finding as shows were disappaearing from my collections then they disappeared from the collections feed which i’d subscribed to in itunes…..and i’d end up missing a charlie
