The last decade has been the warmest on record, so claiming “a lack of warming over the past decade” is wrong. The shorter time period you look over the greater percentage fluctuation you will, that’s why climate scientists do running averages over many years. Take a look at this plot:
You don’t, because you can’t – you can just refer to multi-year averages and call people “deniers” and call it “weather not climate” or “noise not signal” and hope that enough people are fooled, and try to buy time until you have to join the “it’s not really global warming, it’s climate change” crowd – “it’s climate change” meaning only that they still have no idea what’s going to happen but no matter what happens they’re going to blame us.
